Meet the team

Principal – Dr Sana-ullah Qamar


Qualification L.D.S R.C.S. (England 1978) University of Birmingham.

I have been in the dental profession for the last 38 years, practising as a GDS in the role of Practice Owner/Principal Employer of Dental Professional. Throughout my practising career as a dentist, I have learnt the art of mentoring and training of newly qualified dentists, be they recently qualified or vocational trainee (DF1). 


I also help in the training of dental nurses and receptionists in their career development and appraisal. Of course, dentists do not just treat patients but a combination of other roles e.g. disciplining and business accounting matters as well as delivering dental health in the community, dental services and home visits for elderly and infirm patients.


Being head of a growing family, I have progressed through the mentoring of my individual family members in various careers paths and disciplining.


I am a member of LDC in Sandwell and I'm playing an active part in dental matters related to NHS.



I enjoy playing tennis, golf and long walks to enhance my lifelong enrichment of body and soul.

Associate Dentist – Dr Zaheer Fayeez


BDS, MFDS RCS (ENGLAND), MSc in Orthodontics (Warwick University).

A graduate from the University of Bangalore in India in 1999. Following graduation gained experience in Oral Surgery by working as Senior House Officer in the University Cardiff Dental Hospital, Cardiff.


Since 2005 he is working as a general dentist in a busy NHS practice. He joined the Wardend Dental Practice in 2005 and became a principal partner in 2011 and has been central in practice development.


In 2007 he qualified to become a Member of Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS), from The Royal College of Surgeons of England and committed to continual professional development within dentistry. He developed a fascination for orthodontics and joined MSc programme and qualified from Warwick University and started providing orthodontic treatment since 2009. He is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.


Dr Zaheer provides orthodontic treatment with the most advanced fixed braces and removable brace systems including Damon System, Insignia appliances and Clearview (invisible braces).

Dr Saumiah Qamar

Qualified Dentistry from the University of Sheffield in 2006/7


Have worked in several NHS, mixed/independent and private practices over the years, with a wealth of experience in general dentistry, which I enjoy.

 

Specialist interests include aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry (smile design) and looking to further my experience and confidence in dental implantology.


Calm, pleasant manner helping to overcome fear and anxiety in patients through painless, gentle dentistry of the highest standard.

Practice Manager – Assiya Mulla RDN BDA GPS Regional Consultant & Assessor

I went into dental nursing by accident 15 years ago, working my way upwards in building levels of skills and management qualities in the process taking my National Exam in Dental Nursing, OHE, Radiograph, A Level and ILM First Line Management and HNC in Business Management.


Achieving BDA Good Practice Award was more than an award, it shows direction, team building, standards, quality, that has helped me and my team to achieve more from our day to day tasks.

 

I enjoy tennis and swimming as well as occasional long walks in the park and hills.

 

My further aspiration is to take a university degree in Management closely related to health services, so that I can build my valuable experience to help communities.

Qualified Dental Nurses/Receptionist - Fatima Begum (Lakie)

Lakie is our Senior Nurse and Receptionist. She has been with us since August 2002 and is currently studying hard for the NVQ Level 3 in Oral Health Care. Lakie will welcome everyone with a friendly and professional manner making the most nervous patient very relaxed.


Besides taking good care of our patients, Lakie works alongside with Assiya to train our team members so that we can provide a safe and professional care.


Lakie has gained training in educating and promoting preventive care to our patients.

Qualified Dental Nurses/Receptionist - Charlotte Hughes


GDC Registration Number: 248581


Charlotte has been with us since 2008 and over the years has gain and developed her skills both in dental nursing and on reception. She is working hard towards gaining her qualification in Oral Health Care and is working with the dentist to provide preventive advice to our patients.


Keeping fit is important as her son keeps her active.
